Wonderworld of Water (11/21)

Water is one of the most important components of our life. The human body consists of between 60  and 70% of water, just like Earth. It is not for nothing that the Earth is also called "the blue planet" and two thirds of its surface is covered by water. Therefore, water is vital for man and animals alike - we cannot live without water, we cannot plant anything nor harvest. But water can also be a threat for us - either too much of  it in the form of a tsunami or a storm tide or, on the other hand, the deficiency of water. Mass migrations and wars are oftentimes caused by starvation as a result of long drought periods. In this special program of the series "Treasures of the World" Dieter Moor visits places where man with all  his inventive spirit, his curiosity and his will to live has tried to subdue the water and to utilize it.
