Vicenza - The Town of Palladio, Italy (116/418)

The great architect Andrea Palladio (1508-1580) not only created the image of Vicenza but also, scattered throughout the Veneto region, summer villas for aristocrats and houses from which they managed their estates. As with his urban buildings, these country houses had a decisive influence on the development of architecture.
