Treading Softly - The Lynx (8/268)

About 200 years ago, the last lynx in the Schumava, the Czech part of the Bavarian Forest, was shot. And in the decades that followed the predator with the splendid fur had no chance of finding a habitat close to regions inhabited by humans. There were not enough coherent forest areas, and the hunt for his precious fur, as soon as he appeared, sealed its fate. But for years now the lynx has been placed under strict protection and this has paid off. It has returned, even though this story begins with the loss of a mother. This is the story of two lynx siblings who were separated by humans. Each animal gets to know its habitat in its own way. The one lynx is left to its own devices; the other is in the care of humans. Both of them explore the Schumava, learn to hunt and to assert themselves.
