Season 4

Luc Conrad comes to the rescue of the Aargau police department again, in cases that are especially tricky. The sleuths investigate the fall of a young freeclimber, while having to decide how much of a risk they want to take in their own lives. A dead refrigeration engineer and the frozen body of his beloved arouse interest from the police. But these two corpses also point Luc towards the possible future of his business. And an almost diplomatic instinct is asked for while looking into the mysterious death of a powerful travel agent from Japan. Has he fallen victim to the revenge of local hospitality business? Or has he been followed by shadows of the past, causing him to die in the small town of Baden?

A small shadow is cast upon the Conrad funeral home: Fabio is confronted with his all too frequent absent boss. Erika is on an emotional rollercoaster of her own - she is about to reach retirement age. All of a sudden Fabio is burdened with a lot of responsibility. The big question is: Will the young man rise to the challenge?

Yet none of the events above matter to Luc as much as the disappearance of the most important person in his life: at the start of season four detective Anna-Maria Giovanoli is still vanished from the face of the earth. Luc's criminal instinct leads him to Anna-Maria's native village of Morgenthal, where he gets drawn more and more into the abyss of the Giovanoli's dark family secrets. When boyscouts discover a female corpse whose mutilations resemble the ones of an earlier victim, Luc has to ask himself a horrifying question: Is Anna-Maria held captive by a serial killer?
