The governour sents his nephew Timothy into the area of Winnetous tribe as the new sheriff of a golddigger town. He wants him to become a man by this. Harry Melton, a card tricker in Mother Thicks saloon, gets to know about this and puts Latino bandit Rango and his gang after him on his way to his new job. When Rango takes Timothys sheriffstar and papers away from him, Timothy falls badly and it happens that he looses his memory. Nscho-Tschi takes care of Timothy and he even manages to remember his identity, but Shatterhand and Timothy get into jail by the bad kind of Ringo's. Mother Thick helps these to escape from prison and Shatterhand, Winnetou and Timothy succeed in tricking Melton, Rango and his gang in a very dangerous and dramatic trainscene, which almost cost Nscho-Tschis, Mistys and Fastfoots life.
