The Return Of The Wild - Wolf, Lynx And Elk Are Back In Bavaria (16/268)

Perhaps they would never have been noticed were it not for the dense net of roads and high-speed German driving styles that spelled their doom: In short order, three animals that are anything but everyday in Bavaria became road kill in the southern German state: An elk, a wolf and a lynx. Nothing short of a sensation in densely populated and thoroughly civilized Europe, where these animals have been extinct for many years. Was it a coincidence, or have the wild animals returned? Where did they come from, what led them to come back? The film retraces the biographies of three of such pioneers, from infancy to their untimely deaths. They are not alone in their fate, it turns out. Wolf, Lynx and Elk return to Bavaria. But can they ever resettle amid the towns and villages of modern Germany?
