The Nuremberg Zoo's Laguna (213/268)

After almost 3 years of construction time, the Nuremberg Zoo opened its new laguna which vastly enlarges the dolphinarium and thus the habitat of the zoo's dolphins and sea lions. For the first time in their lives the dolphins have the possibility to move around outdoors and to swim and dive through six interlinked pools.The manatees' new home is directly connected with the laguna. The new facility with some 700 cubic metres of water now offers the manatees Mara, Herbert and Zorro about ten times the water volume they used to have. The film team closely observed the animals' relocation and familiarisation with their cameras.
