The Lake In The Ocean - The Secret Of Kakaban (112/268)

Is there still such a thing as terra incognita? Are there still habitats with a world of fauna yet to be explored, and where every visit can reveal something hitherto undiscovered? The archipelago of the Derawan Islands off Borneo abounds in these surprises. In particular, the uninhabited island of Kakaban with its bizarre reef, which surrounds a mysterious lake, has long since been regarded by the few people in the know as a natural wonder of a very special kind. The film team, too, was sometimes hardly able to believe its eyes. For example, polyps in this lake have developed a new method of feeding. They catch jellyfish, which swim through this lake in great numbers. Anyone who dares to dive into this lake senses that there are creatures here which are still quite unknown.
