The Emperor's New Clothes (By Hans Christian Andersen)

Sly, brave Jacob travels all over the land. One day he reaches the city, where he meets pretty Maja and her little sister Greta, who are penniless. All the citizens are suffering, while Emperor Friedhelm spends a vast fortune on his wardrobe. So Jacob comes up with a ruse: Claiming to be the best weaver the world has ever seen, he is admitted to see the Emperor and makes him an enticing offer: He will make the most beautiful clothes in the world for the Emperor. The clothes are so special, he explains, that they are invisible to any who are hopelessly dumb or unworthy of office. Although the Imperial seamstress Adele soon grows suspicious, Jacob makes himself comfortable in the palace and goes to work on the Emperor's new clothes with his "assistants" Maja and Greta. As the big day approaches, everyone is looking forward to seeing the Emperor's fabled new dress. Finally, he appears before the people - and everyone is stunned...
