The Birdman in London (218/268)

"You always have to look upwards"! - this is the first lesson you'll get from David Lindo, England's most famous "urban birder".  A cool, young black man - the former DJ could not be more alien from the cliché of the usual bird watchers' image of an old pinched codger in an anorak. David Lindo already discovered almost 400 bird species in the English capital. Birds are his passion and he knows or detects each and every nest in London - no matter how well it may be hidden. He knows just as thrilling stories about the kestrels living on top of the Tate Gallery as he does about the migrating birds floating across London's financial district or about the exotic rose-ringed parakeets which - according to a myth - were released by Jimi Hendrix.
