The Bay of the Birds of Paradise (236/268)

The Bay of the Birds of Paradise

Birds of paradise are an almost daily sight for Zeth Wonggor. In his village in New Guinea, he has successfully ensured that these beautiful birds are no longer hunted. Visiting bird watchers from around the globe have ultimately proven more profitable for the village than hunting and the pet trade. But what is the situation like in other areas of this large island? Together with Shita Patrivi, a specialist in adventure travel, Wonggor sets off into what is still unexplored territory for these two. They go to a rural village where a number of surprises await. There, the mating calls of the most bizarre creature in the bird kingdom still sound from the surrounding forests. But some of the villagers seem to be up to something? Have they possibly discovered that there is a black market trade in exotic birds and animals? Will this pair's journey end before a wall of silence - or can they find allies here who will finally reveal the secrets of their forest?
