Tel Aviv is often referred to as the "Miami Beach of the Mediterranean". The broad sandy beach and the almost constantly sunny weather make Israel's metropolis an interesting destination especially for city tourists who intend to combine sightseeing with a plunge into the sea. The city, which is some 100 years old now, is above all famous for its numerous Bauhaus-style buildings from the 1930ies. A part of the "white city", however, is in a desolate condition due to the salty air and the lack of maintenance. Tel Aviv is not necessarily a beautiful city, however, a very lively one and when it comes to its nightlife, it can actually compete with any of the European metropolises. New clubs, bars and restaurants are opened up all the time and this attracts people from all over Israel. This film captures Tel Aviv's sense of life. It leads the viewers into the small alleys of the Arabic suburb of Jaffa, visits the Yemenite quarter and introduces the Israeli national sport "Matkot". A city's portrait between the life on the beach, hummus and wild parties..
