Singapore's Birds of Paradise (174/268)

Hardly a zoo or aviary in the world manages to keep the world's most striking birds, the Bird of Paradise. The bizarrely beautiful birds are simply too difficult and demanding to care for. The only way to see them is to visit the jungles of New Guinea - or Jurong Bird Park in the middle of Singapore, which holds many other kinds of birds as well. The visitors from all over the world can see the birds much closer than in other zoos, while paying close attention to conservation issues as well. Thus the star of the show, the African Hornbill, not only thrills the audience with its flying skills, but also helps science study its behavior in order to be able to preserve its natural habitat and survival, along with other bird species.
