Princess Of Gibraltar (158/268)

Such a beautiful bird, so elegant - particularly when its red beak and black and white plumage shimmer in the sunlight: yet black storks are among the most threatened species in Central Europe - and the Czech Republic is no exception. Here, however, the project "African Odyssey" has been conducting research into the life of these birds of passage for years. To secure the continued existence of the species, attempts are being made to resettle zoo animals in the wild. A baby stork from Innsbruck Zoo was placed in a nest with three wild black stork chicks, while a camera was installed above the nest to record the experiment. Fortunately, Sissi, the little female black stork from Innsbruck, was accepted by both parents and siblings. But will she really fly to Africa like her wild ancestors - or have zoo animals lost the urge to migrate? When the time comes to set off for their winter quarters, Sissi joins the other members of the family en route to Gibraltar. Yet this is only the beginning of a thrilling story packed with suspense.
