Of Bambis And Rutting Stages (95/268)

In our forests stags and deer live side by side, in some regions together with immigrants such as the sika deer and the fallow deer. We all know the awesome red deer with its huge antlers and, at some time, we have all seen a herd of deer in a clearing, grazing at dawn or at dusk. And yet most of us know very little about the "crowned heads" of the forest. Is the cute deer a friendly forest-dweller or an aggressive ruffian? Why does the mighty stag shed its antlers every year? Where do the sika and the fallow deer come from? And are the deer and the stag maybe a couple? Animals' World will answer these questions.
