What would Australia be without the kangaroo? And yet still very little is known about the species. On Kangaroo Island, an island in the south-west of Australia, lives the biologist Peggy Riesmiller. 13 years ago she found and reared here a little grey kangaroo. Robby, her kangaroo, now lives near her house with his entire clan. Thus the biologist was able to make observations which had not been possible up to now. She was able to gain new information on the social structure of a kangaroo community, to see how kangaroos learn and why there always has to be a boss in the clan - a thrilling journey through the family life of kangaroos.
