New Perspectives - Travelling through the Southwest of France (146/151)

This film addresses all senses and reflects the unusual perspectives of photographers. The journey takes us to the Southwest of France, more precisely to the region between Bordeaux, the famous wine-growing district of the Médoc, the wild Silver Coast and the

Bassin d'Arcachon which is well-known for its oysters. Each year, the renowned American nude photographer Jock Sturges is drawn to the Southwest of France, the wild romantic Silver Coast. He spends his Summers in Europe's oldest naturists' holiday village in Montalivet-les-Bains which is a dorado not only for naturists but also for surfers from all over the world. Jeremy Buchholz has chosen his beautiful home country as a subject for photos, mainly the city of Bordeaux, the gleaming building faces of which along the Garonne river belong to the (UNESCO) world heritage sites. Stephane Scotto on the other hand considers country and sea from a totally different perspective. He takes pictures of the region around the Bassin d'Arcachon from the bird's eye view, for example, Europe's largest wandering dune. When shooting this film, the author accompanied the photographers and thus got to know amazing new perspectives.

Es ist eine Reisewege-Folge für alle Sinne, die aus der ungewöhnlichen Perspektive namhafter Fotografen erzählt. Sie führt nach Südwest-Frankreich, genauer gesagt in die Gegend zwischen Bordeaux, dem berühmten Weinanbaugebiet des Médoc, der wilden Silberküste und dem für seine Austern bekannten Becken von Arcachon. Jedes Jahr zieht es den bekannten Aktfotografen Jock Sturges aus den USA in den Südwesten Frankreichs, an die wildromantische Silberküste. Er verbringt die Sommer in Europas ältestem FKK-Feriendorf in Montalivet-les-Bains, ein Dorado für Anhänger des Freikörperkults, aber auch für Surfer aus aller Welt. Jeremy Buchholz hat seine schöne Heimat zum Fotomotiv erkoren, vor allem die Stadt Bordeaux, deren strahlende Häuserfassaden entlang des Garonne-Ufers zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe zählen. Stephane Scotto wiederum sieht Land und Meer mit ganz anderen Augen. Er lichtet die Gegend um das Becken von Arcachon aus der Vogelperspektive ab, unter anderem Europas größte Wanderdüne. Für den Film hat die Autorin die Fotografen begleitet und ganz andere Blickwinkel kennengelernt.
