A gang of teens is committing burglaries at the orders of a mysterious mastermind. When detectives Schmücke and Schneider surprise the wanted burglars by accident, a shot is fired. Reflexively, Schmücke fires back. Soon after, he finds out he hit 14-year-old Sacha. When the boy dies from his injury in the clinic, the usually calm and detached Schmücke is completely devastated. Now it's personal: He has to find out who's pulling the strings of these burglaries, even if it means going it alone when his boss takes him off the case because he's too involved emotionally. The detectives only know one thing for sure: The way the mastermind briefs his teen henchmen, he must be a pro. One of the youths, Mario, attracts Schmücke's special attention: Something's haunting him, he's sure. But will he lead the investigators to the fence?
