Kiss - The Story Of A Russian Lynx Kitten (30/268)

200 kilometres north-east of Moscow: the old all-terrain mini-bus turns into a dusty road. At the wheel sits the 52-year-old biologist Alexei Murashov. On the back seat his wife Jana tries to keep hold of a three-month-old lynx on her lap. Kiss grew up in a villa in the wealthy Moscow suburb "Rublevskoe Chaussee" until her owners gave her away. A fate suffered by many exotic animals: as a kitten she was cute, but she soon became too wild for the expensive curtains and furnishings of the nouveau-riche Russians. Now Kiss will move from the luxurious villa to an old Russian wooden house. The Murashovs are curious to see whether Kiss will settle down in their private animals' sanctuary where they have been nursing sick wild animals back to health. Will she get on with birds of prey, domestic cats, dogs and wolves? Can she learn to catch mice instead of eating canned cat-food. In the long term the Murashovs are hoping that Kiss will breed and increase the number of lynxes in the Volga region where they have become quite rare.
