Iran: From Shiraz to Teheran (12/17)

For visitors with an interest in culture, Iran is a veritable treasure trove. With its opulent palaces, lush gardens and colorful bazaars, it is not rare to feel that you have stepped into one of the tales of the 1001 nights. The route of the film takes us from Shiraz to the magnificent beauty of Isfahan and then onto the capital Teheran.

Mysterious ruins, iridescent mosques, gorgeous palaces and gardens - Iran is an exciting and surprising destination. Despite being located in the crisis region that is the Middle East, the demand for trips into Iran has increased strongly in recent times. Since the more moderate-leaning President Rohani won the elections in the autumn of 2013, the theocracy is perceived abroad as being increasingly liberal. More and more culture-vulture tourists are setting off in search of ancient Persia and building a picture for themselves of modern Iran in the process.
