Imagine Death (17/30)

Hot young Berlin art star Hanns Helge romps through his latest installation like a madman: Paint, blood, a crane, a bed, a beautiful woman - in the name of the masterpiece, the enfant terrible sends his assistant and his gallerist scurrying. At the end of the night, the "most expensive German artist under 40" is dead - crushed by his own artwork.

Surely no accident, considering the premium a dead artist is worth in the market. Or was it suicide? After all, Helge was morbidly fascinated by death and the impossibility of imagining what it's like to be dead. Did he decide to take the final voyage of exploration, to delve into the ultimate mystery? Or was it a crime of passion? Was there even anyone the egomaniac artist let into his life near enough to want to kill him? As detectives Ritter and Stark investigate, it becomes clear: It wasn't a suicide. It was murder.
