He Who Understands The Wolf (121/268)

He has returned quietly to Germany. And people are not quite sure what to make of this - perhaps for this very reason the wolf has become the "animal of the year 2003". Suspicion of the wolf is deeply rooted and few animals have such a history of persecution. Myths, fairy tales, legends - he is always the bloodthirsty monster. In Russia, too, the only country in Europe where wolves still roam freely in the vast forests, people hate him - there is a high price on his head. He is the only animal that may be hunted, poisoned, caught in traps the whole year round. There is only one man in Russia who is interested not in the death but in the life of these animals - the wolf researcher Vladimir Bologov. Since his childhood he has been working with wolves, he follows their tracks and understands every noise they make. There are very few people in the world who understand these animals as he does.
