GAS FROM THE DEPTHS (4/5)

Anyone flying from Moscow to the eastern border of Siberia is in the air for a full nine hours. The journey to Vladivostok by train takes seven days. The vastness of Siberia is legendary. With an expanse of over 10 million square kilometres Siberia is larger than any other land on the planet. The landscape conceals an abundance of riches which have never or only rarely been seen. Here there are raw materials such as oil, gas and minerals, and there is a unique wealth of virtually unspoiled nature. People have been living in Siberia for thousands of years; they have adjusted to an environenment with an extreme climate, which seems completely hostile to Central Europeans.
