When Munich homicide inspectors Ivo Batic and Franz Leitmayr have to investigate a murder in the gay scene, they find the victim had a troubling relationship with a married family man. 

Is love fate or random chance? The eternal riddle drives star photographer Fritz Alt into his favorite hangout in Munich's hip gay quarter, where he waits in anticipation for his great love, Gerd. Shortly thereafter, homicide inspectors Ivo Batic and Franz Leitmayr find his bloodied corpse dumped on a construction site. The rumors fly in the tightly-knit gay community. It seems Fritz' ex-lover Ralf Klienmann never got over their break-up. Then there's Fritz's latest flame, married man Gerd Weissenbach, whose wife is understandably worried about their marriage. The trail leads the inspectors to a bizarre internet chat room where Fritz sought sex under a false name. In the course of the investigation, Ivo has to delve into this underground world of anonymous intimacy. They are assisted by the vice squad's Diana Sommerfeld, working separately but together to unearth the dark mystery around Fritz' death
