Reality and fantasy start to blur when Inspector Von Meuffels encounters a series of killings in the hospital.

Inspector Hanns Von Meuffels is critically wounded on the job and hospitalized. The doctors manage to save his life with a dramatic operation. As Von Meuffels slowly recuperates in the following weeks, the painkillers make it hard for him to tell what's real and what's not. He keeps running in to the junkie who shot him and who's actually lying in a deep coma. When patients start dying in the hospital, Von Meufells smells a rat. Is it murder? No one believes him. He runs up against a wall of silence, the doctors refuse to take the feverish cop seriously. Only young intern Dr. Martina Oblenkow is willing to listen. But then she dies as well. Despite his critical condition, Von Meuffels starts to investigate on his own, slowly unearthing a terrible secret?
