Ispectors Schmücke and Schneider are enjoying a well-deserved weekend off, when they are called to a crime scene. A young woman is dead. The victim was taking part in a model casting session, when she suddenly collapsed during a photo shoot at Ferropolis. Everything indicates that she has been poisoned. But who had motive to kill the girl? Was it perhaps one of the other models, trying to get rid of a competitor? Could it have been a mistake and will the killer strike again at the first opportunity? Sylvia Gregori, who has organised the casting event for several years with her husband, Paolo Gregori and stylist, Jérôme Bonnair, refuses to believe that the crime has anything to do with the competition and feels thatthere is no reason to stop the selection process. Schmücke does not trust Gregori or her colleagues at all. His suspicious surrounding the organisers deepen when, in a photograph from an earlier competition, he recognises a missing woman from an old, unsolved case. The death of another girl in the competition brings an unexpected twist in the case and the detectives soon realise that the model casting session is being used as a cover for shocking, criminal activities.
