Johannes Steuben, who is studying music at a private conservatory, is hit by a car and killed. For the investigators, everything seems to point to murder. But soon they discover Johannes fell victim to a case of mistaken identity and find themselves unraveling a very real tragedy. David Brügge and his twin sister Lilly are students at the Telemann Conservatory with a bright future ahead of them. But the pair is under intense pressure to achieve, just as the other students at the music academy. Their ambitious goals leave them little time for a personal life. Since childhood, in fact, the twin virtuosos' lives have been very strictly regimented. A very close bond has resulted between the two siblings, which has taken on erotic undertones by now. But then Lilly threatens to break out when she falls in love with piano student Nico Ziehrer. David, who is completely obsessed with his sister, loses it and accidentally kills Johannes instead of Nico.
