Columbia - From the Andes to the Caribbean (27/59)

The three Columbian departments of Caldas, Quindio and Risarda form the "coffee-triangle" in the Andes, to the West of the capital of Bogota. Here, in the different climatic zones between an altitude of 900 and up to more than 3,000 meters, not only coffee grows but also a lush green flora.  

Medellin is the city of everlasting Spring and the country's second most important city. In order to get rid of the bad reputation it had since the 1980ies until the beginning of this millennium, the city successfully invests in modern libraries, parks, traffic infrastructure and cultural offers.  

Cartagena de Indias is one of the most beautiful cities of the Americas with an almost completely preserved historic city from the Spanish colonial times. In 1984, the city was made a UNESCO world cultural site.  

This film takes its viewers for a very close journey to the people of the various regions and tries to give an insight to their way of life and to offer a feeling for the country which is just on its way to get rid of the recent past's turmoil and confusion. .
