Captain Cook on Cruise (42/59)

From Fort Lauderdale, the cruise ship heads to the Bahamas, St. Thomas and St. Martin. A bright blue ocean, the lap of the waves at the prow, short hops to Caribbean islands and lots of fun in between: this is how most people would imagine a typical cruise to be. For some people, however, everyday life on deck is quite different. Take, for example, Ivo Jahn - head chef on the "Allure of the Seas", the largest cruise ship in the world. In tropical temperatures, he and his team work in the galley and each day face the challenge of catering to several thousand people. This is a logistical master class because the "Allure" can accommodate more than 6,000 passengers. Ivo Jahn is often at sea for months at a time.
