A "tusker"- what is that? An especially grand, old and mighty elephant. And what features characterize its "grandness"? At first its appearance but above all its huge tusks which weigh at least 55 kilos each. There are about 40 tuskers left in Africa. The film team had the opportunity to go on a search after them together with the tusker-expert Dr. Johan Marias. They found Mashangange, Mastuthele and also Duke, the biggest and oldest tusker. Duke's tuskers were that massive that they broke from their own weight. The tusker-expert is also doing research on the question whether there are too many elephants and if they destroy too much in their surroundings. Together with some fellow researchers he is looking for new ways to regulate the elephant population.
