Behind the Mirror (2/6)

A former partner from Brix's time in Vice comes to him looking for help, which he refuses. Janneke is intrigued by this but has to put her concerns aside when a new case comes in. Soon however, in addition to investigating what she feels is a murder staged as a suicide, she also finds herself looking into Brix's past.

At police headquarters, Chief Inspector Paul Brix receives a visit from his former partner, Simon Finger, with whom he had worked in the vice squad. He is on the run from the Russian mafia and wants Brix to help him. Although he is deeply indebted to Finger, Brix refuses. Chief Inspector Anna Janneke witnesses the conversation and starts to wonder who Brix really is.

A new case however means she has to push those thoughts aside: A politician is found hanged in his home. Everything points to suicide but Janneke has her doubts. In the midst of this, Simon Finger vanishes without a trace. Brix starts the search for his friend, while, in turn, Janneke starts looking into Brix's past in Frankfurt's red light district. Janneke and Brix find themselves in a deadly game where loyalty and trust are on the line. In the end, she discovers more about him and about herself than she thought possible.
