A Happy End For A Rhinoceros (65/268)

Does a rhinoceros dream of a life in freedom? Scarcely, if it was born in captivity like Hama, the young black rhinoceros in Frankfurt?s zoo. Nevertheless something like a dream comes true for the rhinoceros as it is to return to the home of its predecessors - a National Park in the south of Africa, where the black rhinoceros is in demand. A zoo animal which is to return to the wild has to learn a lot: to cope with a new environment, to search for food on its own, and to get on with strange animals. Will Hama be able to manage all this? Or are there difficulties which nobody ever dreamt of - such as the possibility that a black rhinoceros cow could fall for a white rhinoceros bull (as some news agencies have reported)? In that case everything would have been in vain, because Hama went to Africa to increase as quickly as possible the number of the rare southern black rhinoceros.
