A Better World (1/7)

"I want to report a murder." With these words, Sven Döring enters the Frankfurt homicide squad offices late one night. Chief Inspector Mey leads him into the only room where the lights are still on: Her colleague Steier's office. "My son had been in a coma for a year and I know it's his girlfriend's fault. She tried to kill him, and your officer Seidel covered it up." Cab driver Döring has obviously crossed the line between mourning and manic paranoia. He strikes the cops as highly dangerous and unstable. He seems to be planning something - could it be revenge on the purported perpetrator? Inspector Mey insists on going to find the young woman and offering her police protection. However, as Steier cynically says, "We're the homicide department, not the homicide prevention department." It's a classic police dilemma: As long as no crime has been committed, there's nothing they can do against the potential criminal. But Mey and Steier don't give up. They keep investigating anyway, as Sven Döring stages a deadly cat-and-mouse game with the young woman and the police. A dangerous race against the clock begins...
