Dead Heart

Detectives Karin Gorniak, Leonie Winkler and their boss Chief Schnabel are investigating the case of 51-year-old Heike Zeller, who was brutally murdered in a Dresden plant nursery. When the investigators arrive at the scene of the crime, they find the victim's son-in-law, Patrick Teichman, in shock. Her daughter Nadine, whose presence in the shop at the time of the murder was confirmed by customers, is insensible too. However, the harmonious image of three loving generations living under one roof is destroyed when the granddaughter Anna tells Leonie Winkler about a physical fight between Nadine and Heike, which she witnessed shortly before her grandmother was murdered; Nadine however vehemently denies any such fight. Is this some family drama, from which Nadine appears to have recovered remarkably quickly? When the detectives discover that Heike Zeller gave birth to twin girls when she was 17-years old, one of whom was pronounced dead but in truth turned out to have been adopted and is presumably still alive, the case becomes a race against time: is the twin sister the killer? Did she manage to infiltrate the family and live Nadine's life? The detectives must discover what happened to Nadine in order to save her life.
