There is great sadness in the small village Everywhere. Since the Golden Thaler is no longer owned by the village, nothing grows there except cabbage and discouragement. But does one simply have to surrender to fate, as the mayor exemplifies it? One day the courageous girl Anna Barbara can't stand it anymore. She sets out in search of the thief of the Golden Thaler.
