Roland Kuhn tested psychotrophic drugs at the Psychiatric Clinic of Münsterlingen for decades. He went down in history as the discoverer of the effect of the first anti-depressant. But after the longtime deputy director and eventual director of the clinic at Lake Constance passed away in 2005, ethical issues were raised: Had the psychiatrist asked permission of his patients and their relatives? Or did he conduct his trials without their consent?
