The Whistleblower

Karla Lorenz - veteran diplomat - faces her greatest challenge ever when she grants embassy asylum to a U.S. Sergeant claiming to have knowledge of secret CIA torture outposts.

Karla Lorenz becomes the new German ambassador in Prague, following her Aunt Alma, who had the job before her. During the official welcome ceremony, Karla winds up in diplomatic hot water: She grants a U.S. Army deserter, Sergeant Sean Miller, and his German girlfriend Lena Fischer asylum in the embassy. The couple claims to have evidence for torture in a secret CIA outpost in the Czech Republic. The U.S. government start coming down hard to get their hands on the whistleblower. Karla refuses to follow her aunts’ advice and think of her career, even when the soldiers’ believability is called into serious doubt. In order to find out the truth, the hard-boiled career diplomat is willing to risk it all.
