A Patchwork Family

Katrin tries to mend her patchwork family at the Confirmation of her rebellious 14-year-old daughter, who just moved out with her and in with her dad. Disaster takes its course...

Having a happy family is just a dream for Katrin. Instead, her patchwork constellation with a number of involuntary fault lines sorely tries her nerves. She has invited the whole family for her 14-year-old daughter Saskia's Confirmation, in hopes of repairing their damaged relationship. Saskia recently moved in with her father and his new family, while the son of Katrin's new partner Phillip moved in with them, regularly making a mess of Saskia's room and Katrin's life. If their everyday life is such a debacle, what's a big family get-together going to be like? In her despair and hysteria, Katrin drives her daughter into open rebellion instead of back into her arms. Katrin's father Horst isn't helping either, with his moral outrage at his daughter's complicated family life. Does a new relationship even stand a chance like this? In the end, the question is, why do we do this to ourselves?

A refreshingly honest comedic look at modern patchwork families, which have to learn to make the best out of any situation, even bad ones. Helmed by comedy vet Oliver Schmitz ("Turkish for Beginners", "Doctor's Diary").
