"Eat sweet, speak sweet" is one of the many proverbs of the Turkish cuisine. People's behaviour to one another, indeed life itself, should be as sweet as the numerous varieties of puddings, jams and confectionary. In the 18th century travellers from Europe already raved about the wonderful sweets of the Turkish cuisine, which bear mysterious names such as "wound turban", "sultan", "seraglio", "women's navel" or "nightingale's nest". They are traditionally connected with special family festivities or religious celebrations; for example the end of the fasting period is celebrated with the "Sugar Feast". The film takes a look into the "honey pot" of an exceptional cuisine.
