When Johanna finds out that little Lena is suffering from a rupture of the spleen, she has no idea that this diagnosis will turn her own life upside down. For a blood sample seems to prove that Gerhard is not Lena's biological father. Enraged, Gerhard insinuates that Lena could be the result of an affair between his wife Verena and the local vet Laurence. Since Laurence has meanwhile become the love of Johanna's life, she finally asks Verena in her surgery to tell her the truth. When the young woman confirms her suspicions, Johanna's world falls apart. After all, she and Laurence are in the midst of their wedding preparations.
