BERLIN, BERLIN is an innovative
series for a young audience. It focusses on the 20-year-old Lolle, who
wants to become a comic artist. In Berlin's trendiest district,
Prenzlauer Berg, she shares a flat with her cousin Sven and her lesbian
girlfriend Rosalie. She and her friends are involved in stories, both
tragic and comical, presented in a witty and carefree way, yet
interspersed with calm, thoughtful elements.
An entertaining stylistic device: Lolle's thoughts and feelings are
presented in an exaggerated fashion in cartoon sequences.
