An anniversary episode of Tatort with a case that the police would have been better off keeping out of. A seemingly cut-and-dried murder turns out to be much more complex than appeared and unleashes a tragedy that ruins multiple lives.
Sometimes things turn out much differently than expected. The murder of a young Romanian prostitute was really rather a routine case; the murderer was found quickly, he confessed and was convicted. "It's the environment, Ivo, I've heard it all before: he gets drunk, needs money, she bawls, he kills her", says Leitmayr, but Batic is uneasy. Two days later, they not only have to deal with a host of mistakes that were made during the investigation, they have also triggered a tragedy, which is ruining one life after another.
