The common buzzard and the honey buzzard are two birds of prey which look very alike. But their diet and their behavior could not be more different. We track down these fascinating birds.
Rodents or insects? Aligning their menus to such different preferences has had far-reaching consequences for these two birds of prey. Even if on the surface they are often difficult to distinguish - common buzzards and honey buzzards are two very dissimilar brothers. Specializing in insects as a food source has turned the latter into a migratory bird and a long-distance one at that.
Who has drawn the better map to ensure their survival? Who is currently taking the greater risks? And given that they keep all kinds of pests at bay, why do we so often prove to be wholly ungrateful to them.
