Commercial photographer Josef Märkl (39) falls while climbing. Someone has tampered with his rappel hook. Josef was in a relationship with the famous Berchtesgadener extreme climber and mountain guide, Anna Falter. Together with her friend and business partner Liz Rittmayer, she runs a mountain guide company in Berchtesgaden. Suspicion first falls on the new colleague Tom Kerner; the dead man had discovered some things about him, which he didn't want known in Berchtesgaden. However, when Jerry discovers that Anna was the actual target and not Josef, the case takes an unexpected turn. Now the investigation moves to focus on Rainer Krieger (54), long-term rival of Anna. Rainer Krieger, it transpires, was not behind the attack, but he and Max do put the detectives on the right track.
