Bert Rappenglück, President of the Berchtesgadener Whip-cracking Association, is lying dead outside his bakery. Quickly, the finger of suspicion points to migrant, Fonsi Nkmura. He is in training at Rappenglück's bakery and appears, not least thanks to the commitment of equipment manager Toni Kainz, to be a role model for successful integration. But being a "newcomer" in a traditional Bavarian association is not as uncontentious as our police officers initially think. As the first whip-cracker, Fonsi has incurred the jealousy of fellow member Ferdi Brandner. And when it is discovered that Fonsi may have stolen money from Rappenglück's bakery and started a secret relationship with the dead man's daughter, Enzi, all the prejudices appear to be confirmed. The detectives then discover that shortly before her father's death, Enzi had been out driving while drunk, which was not without its consequences, and the case takes an unexpected turn.
Things are turbulent at home too for Beissl. As part of the move to the new house, the Beissl family are having to declutter. But opinions differ widely as to what should stay and what should go.
