Recently retired village police officer, Res finds the murdered man's cap in the home of his nephew Elias and informs his colleagues. Elias’ mother Charlotte, Res' sister, will not accept that her son had anything to do with the murder: he couldn't hurt a fly! But when Rosa Wilder tries to question Elias, he flips out and runs off. If Elias is innocent, why is he behaving like this?
The Räbers are being blackmailed by a man called Strunz; he has the stolen documents: apparently, the Räbers have been involved in illegal price fixing on construction projects – and have been making huge profits from it. Robert decides – over Dani's objections – to pay the money demanded. What father and son do not know is that their bookkeeper Liechti is conspiring with Strunz.
Zingg tries to come to an understanding with his ex-wife Nora – in vain. Finally, he turns himself in. He admits that on the night of the incident he drunkenly threw the head of a wild boar through the window of the police station, but vehemently denies murdering Betschart. Kägi confronts him, however, with a second possible crime: A few years previously, Nora's brother died under mysterious circumstances. What did Zingg have to do with that?
