Julia wants to confront Ira. She travels to the Westwall and starts looking for the sawmill. Nick follows Julia, so that he can finally tell her the truth. While Keppler discovers more and more clues that the group are planning a horrendous bombing campaign, Roosen talks to Henning/Badtke. He accuses him of being responsible for the death of Julia's father. The intelligence officer believes that Roosen could tip off the conspirators and so shoots him in cold blood. Julia, who is on the phone to Roosen at the time, becomes a witness to the murder and hears a clue that the shooter is connected to the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. She informs her friend Lydia and takes off deeper into the forest looking for Ira – and one day later the two find themselves face to face. Julia is full of hate and accuses Ira of having murdered Wolfgang. But Ira manages to convince Julia with pretend grief and skilled deception that it was all a tragic accident. Julia remains suspicious but she follows Ira to the sawmill.
