After Julia sees the swastika tattoo on Nick’s back, she runs a background check on him on the police computer system. Shocked, she discovers that he is using a false name and is registered as a serious criminal offender and right-wing extremist. Julia goes to the police academy intending to steal a weapon so that she can confront Nick. But she is caught by her trainer and so tells him everything. Roosen wants to find out what Nick has planned for his student and gives his details to a clandestine, far-right group of conspirators, with which he is secretly associated. A member of the group, Henning, hands on Nick’s address to Ira. She dispatches Karl to fetch the "traitor". Nick is a former member of Ira's group. In the meantime, Keppler, from the Office for the Protection of the Constitution manages to get Julia to trust Nick again. He pretends to be a probation officer and assures her that Nick is full of regret and has completely turned his back on the far-right ideology. Julia meets Nick that evening to reconcile. He wants to finally tell her the whole truth about his mission and to show her a photo of the group. But at his apartment, Ira’s man, Karl, is waiting.
