Mary Cookiebrite has lost her favourite ring in the garden. Leah and Louis can barely stop their mother from turning the whole garden upside down in attempts to find it. With the help of Petronella and little mouse Hilda, they secretly take over the search for the ring. But it is nowhere to be found. Did Nicky take it? The little gnome is known for stealing anything he likes. But Nicky is outraged by this suspicion: It wasn’t him this time! He leaves in a huff – and only a little later, his friends discover the real culprit: Goblin Thornbush has found the ring and is now wearing it as a “crown”! Unfortunately, he hides with the ring in his cave, where Petronella's magic does not work. Now our friends need Nicky's skills as a master thief to steal the ring back. In the end, they manage to win back Mary’s ring. They return the valuable piece of jewellery to a place where Mary safely finds it and peace is restored to the garden – all thanks to Nicky!
