Concerned by the ever-dwindling numbers of Asiatic black bears in Siberia, Alex Sedow embarks on a dangerous and difficult undertaking that will lead him deep into the dense, near impassable forests of the Ussuri region. But what will he find there?
The population of Asiatic black bears in southeastern Siberia is dwindling inexorably. Both a lack of forage and their arch-enemy, the Amur tiger, could be the cause. To get to the bottom of it, researcher Alex Sedow is embarking on an expedition into the Taiga. His search is a dangerous and difficult undertaking that will lead him deep into the dense, near impassble forests of the Ussuri region. Finally, he discovers a place where there is sufficient feed. And sure enough, he also finds bear tracks there. The images recorded by his camera traps finally confirm that the Asiatic black bears are returning to their forest. Relieved, Alex discovers that they have not given up their refuge but are instead repopulating it and they are not allowing themselves to be pushed out by Amur tigers either.
